Who Killed Him?

It’s the question that has echoed through the centuries:
Who killed Him?
Was it the Romans, with their whips and their crosses?
Was it the Jewish leaders, with their accusations and their demands?
Was it the crowd, shouting "Crucify Him!" with voices drunk on fear and rage?
Who killed Him?
The answer is heavier — and holier — than we often dare to admit.
It wasn’t just Rome.
It wasn’t just the religious leaders.
It wasn’t just the angry crowd.
It was us.
It was every lie ever told.
Every betrayal.
Every act of pride.
Every moment of rebellion.
Every hidden sin, tucked away in the corners of human hearts.
It was our sin that nailed Him there. It was our wandering that pierced His side.It was our shame that pressed the thorns into His brow.
And yet — it was His love that held Him to the cross.
He said it plainly:"No one takes my life from me. I lay it down of my own accord.
" (John 10:18)
Jesus wasn’t a victim of politics or history. He was a willing sacrifice — a Lamb who chose to be slain before the foundations of the world.
The nails did not hold Him.
The soldiers did not overpower Him.
The hatred of men did not conquer Him.
Love did.
Love for you.
Love for me.
Love for a broken world that had no hope without Him.
So who killed Him?
We did.
But who raised Him?
The Father did.
And through His resurrection, death itself was defeated.
The cross is not a story of blame.
It’s a story of breathtaking mercy.
It’s the place where justice and grace collided — and grace won.
I love this and it is so very true!
